Megabyte

Megabyte definition

A "megabyte" (mB) is 1,000,000 bytes, or sometimes 1,048,576 even though the latter is known as a "mebibyte" (MiB or MB), as the "mega" technically means "million". The "MB", "MiB" and "mB" are also sometimes confused, as is "megabit" (mb or Mb) which is a million bits - one eighth of a megabyte. A megabyte is 1,000 kilobytes, whereas a mebibyte is 1,024 kibibytes.
