Kilobyte

Kilobyte definition

A "kilobyte" (kB) is 1,000 bytes, or sometimes 1,024 even though the latter is known as a "kibibyte" (KiB or KB), as the "kilo" technically means "thousand". The "KB", "KiB" and "kB" are also sometimes confused, as is "kilobit" (kb or Kb) which is a thousand bits - one eighth of a kilobyte.

Accuracy between the two (kilo and Kibi) isn't always important, but it is important to consider the difference between bits and Bytes.
